SAMA Launches Newly Updated SAMAView Service
SAMA launched an updated version of the SAMAView service on December 2, 2019. SAMAView allows the general public access to individual property assessments for all SAMA client jurisdictions.
SAMAView was built on outdated technology and needed to be fully rebuilt from the ground up. The rebuild of SAMAView has increased speed and performance and allows for a more user-friendly interface. SAMAView is a service of the MySAMA web portal, and as such additional services inside the MySAMA portal may be offered in the future, particularly with respect to commercial customers and increased mapping capabilities.
"SAMAView gives the public a tool to gather specific property assessment information, in a self-serve fashion, without having to contact municipal or agency offices," Chief Executive Officer Irwin Blank said. "And with the new enhancements, it should make it even easier for municipalities and property owners to stay informed."
The updated system works on an account and credit system. A typical user from the general public will receive 25 free credits per revaluation cycle when they sign up for a free MySAMA account. Credits are used whenever an individual orders a property report at a rate of one credit per report. Commercial users, like realtors or larger corporate clients, are required to purchase subscriptions and credits in packs for ordering property reports, and are able to order detailed property reports right through SAMAView. Municipalities can use their existing accounts to access SAMAView and will not need to purchase credits to use SAMAView or download property reports.
The new SAMAView service offers:
- A mobile-friendly interface;
- Better search capabilities;
- Geolocation services;
- Online payment processing;
- Secure access - personalized dashboard & favourites;
- Access to prior year assessment information;
- Unlimited viewing of general property information;
- Access to additional property details available for purchase; and,
- The potential to add more imagery for different customer groups in the future.
